MY VIEW IN THE MTN FAZ SUPER LEAGUE IN 2016.
It’s clear that ZANACO and ZESCO are the teams of this generation and it still looks set to continue hunting for more titles in the Super League.
Between the two teams in this period they have a combined title hunt of 11 , Six for ZANACO and five for ZESCO. Leaving five titles to share among other teams that include :
Nkana two titles
Power Dynamos two titles
Red Arrows : One title
The total number of clubs that have won the Super League in the last sixteen years is only five. And the trend looks to continue in 2016 as by and large the same teams are the ones that have seriously worked on the depth of their squads while other teams have not done much in the off season window transfer
ZESCO United lead in the purchases and have shown serious intent of getting else where in Africa to get players especially with the exit of the 2015 player of the year, who will now play his trade in Congo Brazzaville for AC Leopards.
ZANACO also seem to be gunning for the title but the destruction will come in the name of CAF confederation cup and I think the earlier they exit the CAF trotting the brighter the chances of digging for the local honours. I just don’t think they will get that far in the CAF tournament.
Nkana could also push for the 13th title but a lot will depend on how the technical bench uses the team they have assembled and truth be told they are not yet done in the transfer window. They have realistic chance but it will depend on the exploits of the two Z teams in ZESCO and ZANACO.
Power Dynamos will also think this is their time to get back to winning ways. They last won the title in 2011 but their biggest loss was releasing N’gonga to Gabon last season and that has been a serious blow to their bid. The struggle for the assassin Jimmy Ndhlovu who left for Nkana was also another blow but they will be encouraged with the purchase of the 2015 young player of the year in Conlyde Luchanga who they signed from Lusaka Dynamos on a two year loandeal but seriously the task is huge.

MY VIEW
Very difficult to say but I think the winner of the 2016 Super League will come from the teams that have won the league from 2000 with ZESCO , ZANACO, NKANA and POWER DYNAMOS being the front runners.
My verdict is that Nkana will be a surprise package of the 2016 season.
Below is the list of the winners from the year 2000.
2015: ZESCO United (Ndola)
2014: ZESCO United (Ndola)
2013: Nkana (Kitwe)
2012: Zanaco (Lusaka)
2011: Power Dynamos (Kitwe)
2010: ZESCO United (Ndola)
2009: Zanaco (Lusaka)
2008: ZESCO United (Ndola)
2007: ZESCO United (Ndola)
2006: Zanaco (Lusaka)
2005: Zanaco (Lusaka)
