In keeping up with their tradition of nurturing young talent, Thika United have signed two students scouted from last year’s Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association competitions.
Mwambeyu Tsuma and Patrick Kimani have been contracted by the Kiambu County-based side, and are expected to start training with the rest of the team next week.
Tsuma is a former student at Kisumu Day secondary school, while Kimani is from Passenga Secondary School.
Thika coach Moses Irungu said that he would make it his job to help the new signings achieve their full potential. He expressed optimism they will adapt well to the standards and rigors of the top flight league.
“It is never easy bringing such young boys from high school and placing them in the competitive environment of the league, but this will not be the first time we are doing it.
“There are so many other players who came here with nothing but their talent and their determination, and they left this club mature and ready for professional stints at the highest level,” he said.
Thika have also recruited Salim Ismail from Administration Police.
