Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey still remains a transfer target for Premier League side Arsenal.
The Black Stars midfielder has a £44.8 million release clause in his contract at the Spanish club.
According to Football London, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta is on the verge of sealing a deal for free agent Willian, but Arsenal then want to turn their attentions to landing a dynamic central midfielder.
The Atletico midfielder fits the bill and has been strongly linked with the Gunners for several months now.
But the La Liga side has made it clear that the club will only accept an offer of £45million to sell the 27-year-old.
The effects of the coronavirus pandemic has had a toll on football, and reports suggest that Arsenal’s finances are stretched to the maximum.
The North London club will have to sell some players in order to land the Ghanaian.
