The reigning champions of the FUFA Super League KCCA FC are back to winning ways on the local scene. Head coach George Nsimbe and his troops headed to Wakiso to face a team that caused them problems in the first round and also lost the game.
KCCA were in the moods of putting things right following Saturday’s elimination from the CAF Champions League at the hands of Zambian side Nkana Red Devils.
Former KCCA player Siraje Turyamuhebwa had different ideas on the day as he netted the game’s opener in the first half.
It was all left for KCCA to react in the perfect manner and never disappointed their traveling fans to Kavumba stadium. They hit back in style with two goals by Tony Odur who got the equalizer and Michael Birungi netting the other. Final score read Soana 1-2 KCCA FC.
KCCA trail leaders Vipers with four points on 32 but have a whopping four games in hand.
Elsewhere, Sports Club Victoria University (SCVU) has thrashed Entebbe FC 3-0 at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole.
Noah Semakula opened the scoring as early as the third minute of the game while Daniel Nsubuga got his team’s second two minutes later.There was an own goal by Ibra Senkasa.
SCVU moved 4th of the 16 team log with 35 points, two adrift leaders Vipers.Action resumes Friday.
