Legendary French tactician Claude Le Roy has inked a three year deal as Togo’s Sparrow Hawks new Head Coach, taking over from Tom Saintfiet.
68 years old Le Roy nicknamed “Black witch doctor” has an unmatched 38 years experience in the continent and has graced a record eight Africa Cup of Nations tournaments.
His immediate duty is to qualify Togo to the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon. Togo is third in Group “A” two points behind Liberia, who they face away in June.
The immediate former Congo Brazzaville Coach had this to say; “We need a miracle to qualify for the 2017 Nations Cup, perhaps as the best second placed team.”
He guided Cameroon to the 1988 Nations Cup glory and has only failed to reach quarter finals once.
Other countries he has handled previously includes; DR Congo,Ghana and Senegal.
