Muhoroni Youth notched their second successive win in the Kenyan premier league after a deserved a 1-0 win over visitors City Stars at the Muhoroni Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The win came as a sweet victory for coach Francis Baraza who was handling the team in only his second match since taking over a week ago beating AFC Leopards in his first match incharge.
Elly Otuoma scored the solitary but vital goal as early as the 5th minute after he controlled a sublime pass to fire the ball home past a hapless Majani in City Stars goal.
The introduction of Jimmy Bageya spurred on City Stars but Muhoroni’s defence remained adamant thwarting all efforts from the visitors as they held on to the solitary goal.
KCB 1-2 Tusker
KCB woos continued when they fell 1-2 to a brilliant Tusker side in an early kick off game in the Kenyan premier league on Sunday.
Tirus Omondi’s own goal gifted Tusker with an early lead in the 2nd minute after he deflected into his own goal a Brian Osumba shot.
Former KCB’s player Clifford Alwanga added the second goal for Tusker in the 37th minute from a sublime Khalid Aucho’s pass sending keeper Okinda the wrong way.
KCB went into the break trailing Tusker 2-0 and looking for the elusive goals.The bankers came back from the break firing from all cylinders but Francis Ouma was the culprit failing to convert despite being the better side in the second half.
KCB fought tooth and nail and got their consolation goal late in the 82nd minute that was not enough to give them the win after Charles Onyango fired past Samuel Odhiambo in Tusker’s goal after a one two with Ayany but it was not enough to salvage the situation.
KCB have only garnered 3 points from five matches played so far as their opponents Tusker moved to 10 points after 4 matches.
CHEMELIL SUGAR 2-0 TOP FRY NAKURU
A Tony Nyangor’s brace helped Chemelil Sugar to a 2-0 win over bottom side Nakuru Top Fry as the sugar millers fantastic form continued in an entertaining match played at the Chemelil Complex on Sunday afternoon.
The loss for Top Fry Nakuru was the fifth in a row since their debut in the Kenyan premier league and despite sacking German Oliver Page after just three games incharge.
The first half ended in a barren draw for both team but upon resumption it was the host who broke the deadlock as Daniel Mutahi who came in for Stephen Wakhanya provided a sublime cross for Tony Nyangor who wasted no time scoring the opener in the 59th minute.
Tony Nyangor got his brace deep in injury time beating City Stars keeper Ronny Kagunzi from close range after another beautiful cross from enterprising Daniel Mutahi.
The win saw Chemelil Sugar move to 11 points in the Kenyan premier league as debutants Top Fry Nakuru stayed at the bottom of the log with no point.
SOFAPAKA 0-0 AFC LEOPARDS
Sofapaka were held to a goalless draw by visitors AFC Leopards in an entertaining match played at the Machakos Stadium on Sunday Afternoon.
The ding dong battle saw both sides looking for an opener but they held on as the game ended on the goalless draw as both sides fought tooth and nail.
Sofapaka’s keeper Duncan Ochieng had to be rushed to hospital after he collided with an opponent.
