Tottenham Hotspurs are taking nothing for granted especially on their players some of who are on holiday’s after a grueling season and injuries.
Victor Wanyama who has been in Nairobi since the end of the season in England has missed International friendlies for the national team Harambee Stars that include a loss to Swaziland and a win against Equitorial Guinea and he was not among the players that travelled to India for a tournament.
www.soka25east.com has reliably learnt that Tottenham Hotspur wrote to Football Kenya Federation(FKF) making it clear that Wanyama needs enough rest so that he can fully recover from the injury he picked up while featuring for the club.
The federation had written to Wanyama’s club requesting for his presence in the friendlies but Tottenham responded by denying Kenya the opportunity to enable Wanyama to fully recuperate.
Speaking to soka25east.com Wanyama confirmed that he will not be travelling for the India Tournament “i am not travelling for the tournament i will be back at home”he said.
Kenyan skipper Wanyama is coming off of an injury blighted season that saw him miss nearly five months of action. When he did return, it was hinted that he played the final 2-3 games through another minor injury because of the midfield crisis Spurs were in at that point.
