African giants TP Mazembe have confirmed the transfer of wonderkid Jackson Muleka to Jupiler Pro League outfit Standard Liege.
The 20-year-old has been subject of interest from across the continent since bursting onto the scene with the Ravens as a 17-year-old after graduating from the esteemed Ecofoot Katumbi academy.
French outfits Olympique de Marseille, LOSC Lille and RC Lens were the latest to register interest but Mazembe have now confirmed that Standard have won the race as they ‘negotiated without intermediaries’.
“Tout Puissant Mazembe is delighted with this change which has taken place, in the interest of the three parties, thanks to the close collaboration between the two clubs and without the intervention of intermediaries,” the club said in a statement.
“This collaboration had already allowed the past the transfer of former players of TP Mazembe, Christian Luyindama, Merveille Bope and Jonathan Bolingi with the success that we know.
“TP Mazembe can only wish Jackson the best in a European adventure that he wanted. If he works and continues to progress, it will undoubtedly be crowned with success.”
Muleka who is the 2019/20 CAF Champions League top scorer has signed a four-year contract with an option of an extra year with the Belgian top-flight side.
