TP Mazembe welcome the Zambian Champions

MY VIEW IN THE CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FIRST ROUND

TP Mazembe Vs Zesco United
Stade TP Mazembe Stadium
15:00hrs
It will be advantage Mazembe as the two teams walk on the pitch in search of the Group stage slot of the new aligned Champions League that cross into 2019. Playing at home, TP Mazembe will have it’s fans in solidarity to push them to claim first leg advantage

There is no history between these two teams as this will be the first match between them and with both sides promising their fans a good game, this is becoming a game that each set of fans wouldn’t want to miss.

TP Mazembe Form

The DR CONGO team lead in the in the Congolese Super Ligue with 11 victories out of the 13 games and only count one loss, the other being a draw . That already has seen them go five points clear in the local league.

Note that TP Mazembe are playing their first match in this year’s Champions League having been given a bye in the preliminary round. This without a doubt could be because they reached the quarter final of the last edition where they lost to Primero de Agosto.

TP Mazembe has experience in their team and odds put Tresor Mputu expected to start but with big interest it will be nice to see Rainford Kalaba face his former Team for the first time. TP Mazembe also have Nathan Sinkala and Kabaso Chongo in their team who are in contention to feature in this one.

Zesco United Form

Zesco United are here after a 5-1 aggregate against AS SONIDEP of NIGER . They are the Zambian champions having finished four points clear of their closest challengers, Nkana in the last campaign were they only lost four games the entire season .
I don’t think George is going to make a lot of changes from the team that dispatched the Niger team. Rahim Osumanu and Lazarous Kambole were both on the score sheet in that tie against the Nigeriens and are set to start on Sunday. Jesse Were is another first team player who will be pushing for a place in the starting line up.

TP Mazembe has been successful in this tournament because they always start strong at home and you don’t expect them to play defensive in this game but rather go on the offensive. The likes of Mputu and Sinkala will carry the attacking threat for the team and should have too much quality for Zesco.

WHO WINS IT?

Mazembe have a solid home record which is unlikely to be broken on Sunday. Their superior quality should see them claim a good advantage against Zesco United but not once has Zesco United surprised a lot in most of away games in this competition. underrate them at your own peril.

My Prediction : TP Mazembe 2-0 Zesco United

Follower of the Zambian game!!!!!
