Mabingwa wa zamani wa taji la klabu bingwa barani Afrika, TP Mazembe ya Jamhuri ya Kidemokrasia ya Congo, ilipata ushindi mwembamba wa bao 1 kwa 0 dhidi ya Stade Gabesien ya Tunisia katika mchuano wa mzunguko wa kwanza kutafuta nafasi ya kufuzu katika hatu ya makundi, kusaka taji la Shirikisho barani Afrika.
Bao pekee la Mazembe lilitiwa kimyani na Jonathan Bolingi, na kuwapa raha mashabiki waliofurika kuutazama mchuano huo katika uwanja wa Kamalondo mjini Lubumbashi.
Mazembe ambao walishinda taji la klabu bingwa msimu uliopita, wanashiriki katika mashindano haya baada ya kuondolewa katika hatua ya mwondoano na klabu ya Wydad Casablanca ya Morocco katika harakati ya kutetea taji lake.
Mchuano wa marudiano utachezwa baada ya siku 10 ugenini.
