Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM) has announced the purchase of the PSL status of Bidvest Wits.
The NFD side made the announcement on Saturday that it had completed a purchase of Wits with players also part of the package under the new ownership.
TTM have however, said they will not take on head coach Gavin Hunt and have since asked him to look for a job elsewhere.
The club made the news official on their social media platform and have since asked for an official name change from Bivest Wits to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila.
“We have logged with the PSL for an official name change. The name will change from Bidvest Wits to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC as of the beginning of the new season. The team will play at Thohoyandou Stadium as their home ground next season,” the club said in a twitter post.
Reports emerged in the past few weeks that Wits was been sold but the club management came out strongly and denied the speculations.
Talks have been ongoing in the background between TTM owner Masala Mulaudzi and the Wits management over a possible takeover.
Some of the big players at Bidvest Wits are expected to leave after the announced sale. Captain Thulani Hlatshwayo has been strongly linked with a move to Orlando Pirates while the likes of Buhle Mkhwanazi, Gift Motupa and Deon Hotto are also expected to trek out of the club.
