The Tunisian Football Federation (FTF) has provided a set of guidelines in relation to the return of competitions in the top tier and second division clubs.
FTF announced in a statement that guidelines will have to be strictly adhered to for the safety and well-being of everybody
The guidelines have been set for both teams in Ligue 1 and some Ligue 2 clubs, so that they can prepare for football to resume in August.
“Our objective is to apply a strategy that ensures both return of practice and football season, as well as the health and safety of all parties involved in the process during the COVID-19 crisis,” the FTF said in a statament.
Football in Tunisia has been on hold since mid-March due to the outbreak of the coronavirus.
The Tunisian Ligue 2 was cancelled except those involved in relegation and promotion. Playoffs will be used to decide teams that will win promotion to Ligue 1 and teams that will be relegated to Ligue 3 and promotion to Ligue 2.
The FTF have since proposed a plan to government that will see a return of individual training and group sessions in June.
All training sessions and matches will have to be conducted behind closed doors while observing health precautions, such as proper sterilization of equipment, hands, and limiting access to the stadium.
The schedule set out by FTF will see games returning in August 2020 and the new 2020/2021 season kick off in late October 2020.
