The Minister of Youth, Sports and Professional Integration, Kamel Deguiche received this Monday, Tarek Bouchemaoui, member of the FIFA Council, member of the Executive Committee of the African Football Confederation (CAF) and candidate for the presidency of the Pan-African football body, on March 12.
The former chairman of the CAF club competitions commission, said his candidacy represents an, “important opportunity for Tunisia to chair this institution in order to defend the interests of football on the African continent,” Says the press release from the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
For his part, the minister expressed the will of the ministry “to support all initiatives that would carry the flag of Tunisia, on the continent and internationally and those in all “fields and sectors, as the basis of sports diplomacy and strengthening the representation of Tunisia in sports structures at regional, continental and global levels.”
