The Ghana Women’s football team started their campaign at the Alanya Gold City Cup on the wrong footing after a 3-0 defeat in the hands of Chile Women at the Starlight Sports Complex, Alanya at the Starlight Sport Complex.
Chile now tops group B on three points, Ghana trail ahead of Kenya’s clash with Northern Ireland B.
The Black Queens contained La Roja throughout the opening half to go into the break scoreless.
Two quick goals after resumption from Karen Araya in the 55th minute from the penalty spot and Camila Sáez a minute later changed the complexion of the match.
The South Americans were in total control and added a third in the 71st courtesy of Dani Pardo. Ghana produced no response.
Chile’s next match is against Kenya whilst Ghana faces Northern Ireland B.
