Eleven-time Kenyan champions Tusker FC on Thursday announced their new signings ahead of the 2017 SportPesa Premier League season
In a move to maintain their status in the league,Tusker has moved swiftly to strengthen various departments in the team.
The brewers have officially announced new coach following the departure of head coach, Paul Nkata, to Bandari FC. George ‘Best’ Nsimbe has been officially declared as the man to coach the champions and will be closely assisted by Francis Baraza formely with Chemelil Sugar FC.
According to the club the new charges in the team have quickly gained strength and the players are optimistic in clinching more trophies in the upcoming season.
To strengthen goalkeeping department, Byrne Omondi has made a return to the club from Agrochemicals FC and will replace Martin Musalia who was released on mutual consent.
The midfield segment has been reinforced with the gigantic return of Brian Osumba who was out of play for the whole of 2016 season with the club extending his contract together with his fellow players, Lloyd Wahome and Clifford Alwanga.
Also brought in to bolster the midfield is the young and talented Sydney Ochieng, the formerly with Palos who was on a blistering form for Palos in National Super League, 2016.
In the back line, Vincent Omumbo, Samuel Olwande and Marlon Tangauzi have been deemed best to help in retaining the SportPesa Premier League and Champion League ambitions.
Also brought in to the squad is speedy winger Victor Ndinya from Bandari FC and Abdul Hassan formely with Tanzanian side, African Lyon who are expected to provide the much needed competition on the flanks.
Already, Tusker have statred training in preparation for the 2017 season which will kick off early with the DSTV Super Cup against Gor Mahia on 29th January 2017 and the champions league set to kick off on 11th February, 2017.
