Tusker head coach Paul Nkata has exuded confidence that the team will hold on to their lead as the league enters last six games.
The coach maintained that their critics will be in for a rude shock as he has a strategy to ensure that his charges weather through the storm and reclaim the title which has been elusive for the last four years.
Nkata criticized some local football analysts, for using half-truths to indicate that the team will soon run out of gas and fall down the rankings on the KPL standings.
“Some people are looking at us losing points in the remaining games, while forgetting that there is also the possibility that we can maintain the lead for the rest of the season. Our fate is in our hands. We are still at the top of the table and that is where we are at this point,” he stated.
The Uganda refuted suggestions that the team is under intense pressure, which it cannot handle since they enjoy a very narrow lead ahead of Gor Mahia who seem to be on resurgence.
“Leading by two points does not put any pressure on us and it doesn’t mean that we are losing steam. Even if we win the league with a single point we shall be deserving of the title,” he added.
The brewers will face relegation threatened Nairobi City Stars in the next match over the weekend as they seek to regain ground at the peak.
