Belgian Emilio Ferrera or Frenchman Desabre Sebastien will be the next Uganda Cranes coach, Soka25east has reliably learnt.

The announcement will be made Thursday 2PM local time at FUFA House, Mengo.

Two more coaches remained in contention after final round of vetting; they included former Rwanda coach Johnny McKinstry and Ugandan Moses Basena.

But an impeccable source has told Soka25east that the two have been ruled out.

Emilio, 50, holds UEFA A coaching license and is currently working as Anderlecht U21 coach.

The former midfielder in his heydays has not worked in Africa before and has never been in charge of a national team.

However, he has coached some of top clubs in Belgium namely Club Brugge, Lierse, KRC Genk and FC Brussels.

Desabre, 41, is currently the coach of Egyptian Premier League side Ismaily SC.

He also holds UEFA A license and has a vast experience in Africa having previously worked with different clubs across the continent.

Like Emilio, he also lacks coaching experience at national level.

Some of the clubs he has managed in Africa includes Cote d’Ivoire’s ASEC Mimosas, Esperance du Tunis, Coton Sport of Cameroon and African Champions Wydad Casablanca of Morocco.

Ismaily is currently topping the Egyptian Premier League and it remains to be seen if Desabre will abandon them for a new challenge with the Cranes.
