Kenyan Premier League Independent Disciplinary and Complaints Committee (IDCC) today (Wednesday) ruled that AFC Leopards play their next two home matches in empty stadium due to crowd trouble during their match against Thika United.
Confirming the development KPL Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Jack Oguda said the decision takes effects immediately.
“Yes Leopards will play Chemelil FC on Sunday, August 30 and Western Stima on September 9 at Nyayo Stadium minus fans as a punishment for the incident at Thika Municipal Stadium in June.” Oguda told Soka25east.com
“Ingwe” confirmed the same on their official website.
“Our club supporters have been barred from attending the next two home matches. This is as a result of the crowd trouble at Thika United Stadium that led to the abandonment of the fixture.”
Leopards yesterday lost three points to rivals Gor Mahia after KPL ruled that their fans caused the abandonment of the “Mashemeji Derby” on Sunday, August 23 at Nyayo.
