Football Kenya Federation has started the selection of the national U-20 women’s national team in Eldoret.

A total of 40 players who were called to camp converged in Eldoret over the weekend ready for the exercise.

The national football governing body has named Harambee Starlets captain Ann Aluoch and former Makolanders midfielder Jackline Akoth as coaches for the team, scheduled to play Jordan in September.

During the event FKF President Nick Mwendwa urged the youth to work hard such that they impress to be picked in the national team where they will be fully supported to ensure their dream of playing professional football is realized.

“We are committed to developing the game at all levels and across all genders,” said FKF president Nick Mwendwa.

“It is our belief that the national U20 women team will offer the much needed transition for young players to join the Harambee Starlets, something that has been lacking in the past.”he added.
