Kampala City Council Authority Football Club yesterday ended their pre-season preps on a high, humiliating FUFA Big League side Artland FC 6-0 at Buziga grounds.
By the end of the first half the Mayor’s Boys were three goals up, with defender Timothy Awany, Nelson Ssenkantuuka and Jerry Simfukwe putting their names on the score sheet.
The rout continued in the second stanza of the one sided encounter with more breath taking goals from Joseph Ochaya, Dan Isiagi and Sulaiman Akinyemi, to compete the goal fest ahead of Uganda Premier League kick-off on Saturday.
Bullish Ssimbwa declared his readiness for the league opener against Jinja side Sadolin FC, stating his faith in the forward line.
“We will now go into the Sadolin game full of confidence that we can score a goal anytime. I was particularly impressed with Simfukwe and had he scored the penalty, he would have been the my man of the match. Bring on Sadolin, and we will separate the men from boys,” He told club’s website.
“We played the 4-4-2 diamond formation but our opponents should know we have many other systems we can play.”
