International friendly:
Zambia vs Uganda, Ndola Stadium.
The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed that they have agreed with their counterparts-Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) to play an international friendly game on a FIFA designated day of matches.
The two National teams Uganda Cranes and Chipolopolo of Zambia will play their game on 5th March, 2014 at Ndola Stadium in Zambia.
‘We are happy to have such a high profile friendly with one of the biggest teams on the continent. We are certain that it will help the coach test out his players against a good team’ said FUFA CEO Edgar Watson.
The Uganda Cranes Squad will be announced soon as it is being finalized by the Cranes technical side.
The two nations have faced off 33 times but the 2012 AFCON champions Zambian hold the edge with 17 wins while eight have been draws and the last time both teams met was at Namboole during the 2013 AFCON qualifiers that the hosts Cranes won by 1-0 but packed out on spot kicks.
Both teams will use the build up match to prepare for next year’s 2015 African cup of nations qualifiers that kick off mid this year.
