Egypt, DR Congo, Uganda and Zimbabwe
The Draws for the Group stages of 2019 Total African Cup of Nations Finals were conducted on Friday night at the historical Pyramids in Egypt.
Uganda Cranes was drawn in Group A alongside with the hosts Egypt, DR Congo and Zimbabwe.
According to the fixtures, Uganda will play the first match on 22nd June against DR Congo.
The second game will be against Zimbabwe on 26th June while the last group match is scheduled on 30thJune with Egypt. All Uganda’s group stage matches will be played at Cairo International Stadium.
‘We now know all the teams in our group. We are going to play two strong teams DR Congo and Egypt. I think it’s a good opportunity for us to participate with good teams and we shall give it all for good results’ said Uganda Cranes head coach Sebastien Desabre
Uganda was also drawn with Egypt in the previous AFCON finals in Gabon.
FUFA President Eng. Moses Magogo attended the function as he is a CAF Executive Member together with the FUFA 3rd Vice President Hon. Florence Nakiwala Kiyingi and National Teams Manager Patrick Ntege. Uganda Cranes coach Sebastien Desabre was also at the draw.
