Two goals from Geoffrey Sserunkuuma and Farouk Musisi have helped Lweza FC pick an all important second win in the Azam Uganda Premier League this season.
Sserunkuuma who also scored the winner against Sadolin Paints FC in Bugembe on Tuesday, put the hosts into lead early in the first half after SCVU defenders failed to clear the ball from a rebound.
There were numerous attacks from both sides but the striker’s goal was enough for the Kajjansi based club to head into half time leading.
Early minutes of second half were no different as either side pressed forward but it was Lweza who extended their lead to 2-0.
Left footed Farouk Musisi scored on 65 minutes send team faithful into jubilations.
SC Victoria University pulled one back on 79 minutes through Nicholas Kagaba’s long range stunner.
The win puts Lweza FC elevates Lweza to the 11th position on the table with 6 points collected from 6 games while SCVU remains in 9th with 6 points as well but with a superior goal difference.
The owners of team Lweza had reportedly given head coach Joseph Mutyaba an ultimatum of two wins before the Sadolin FC game and the two consecutive victories mean the youth coach may be safe for now.
