UGANDA VS ZAMBIA
SATURDAY 23rd JANUARY
18:00HRS
A big game for Uganda and a loss complicates their life in the tournament and the win for Zambia will hand them a quatre final place who beat Zimbabwe in the first game.
By the time Zambia plays their game, they would have already known the result of Zimbabwe vs Mali and more need to concentrate on beating Uganda. A loss to Uganda and it’s back to looking for calculators and wishing for other teams to fail.
Zambia was slow to kick start the tournament against Zimbabwe and if they will apraoch Uganda with that attitude then Uganda may just surprise the Chipolopolo.
There have been 34 games played between these two teams with Zambia winning 15, drawing 6 and losing 13. It’s not as easy game as we hear the names.
Uganda played very good football in their first game and they will be relishing full points here.
Am not yet convinced with Zambia and I think they will be found wanting in this fixture by a very good Uganda side. I think Robert Sentongo is a gifted forward, full of running and shooting on every turn and Buchizya Mfune and team should be extra careful but I think Uganda will score in this encounter.
Zambia on the other hand will still depend on the expertise of Christopher Katongo and Isaac Chansa but I think How the Ugandan backline handles the 2012 AFCON winners will decide the tide of the game.
MY VERDICT: UGANDA 1-1 ZAMBIA.
