Uganda and Zambia will play a friendly match before their next Russia 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Congo Brazzaville and Cameroon in November.
Close sources from both countries have told Soka25east.com the warm-up is scheduled for Tuesday, November 8, at Namboole stadium, Uganda, four days before “the Cranes” host Congo Brazzaville on Saturday, November12, in their second group “E” fixture at the same venue.
“The Chipolopolo” of Zambia will then proceed to Limbe Cameroon, for a group “B” match against “the Indomitable Lions” at Limbe stadium also on November 12.
Uganda picked a point away to Ghana in Tamale in the previous qualifier early October, while Zambia were beaten at home 2-1 by Nigeria.
Under Serbian coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojovic, Uganda have been regularly playing build up matches before crucial games and during FIFA days, and so far he has overseen 27 in total.
Before playing Ghana, the AFCON 2017 qualifiers camped in Togo and gauged themselves against the hosts “Sparrow Hawks” losing 1-0.
Both Uganda and Zambia have never been to the World Cup.
