Ugandan international Davis Kasirye scored his debut goal for Zesco United in a 2-1 loss to Lusaka Dynamos in a Zambian Super League tie at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium Thursday.

After a tough first half in which each side matched pound for pound, Kasirye broke the deadlock in the 71st minute with a sumptuous strike.

However, the lead only lasted ten minutes as Eric Kabulo restored parity.

Veteran goal poacher Fwayo Tembo grabbed the winner on the dot to guarantee each player $40 winning bonus.

Kasirye, who joined the Ndola based giants during the June transfer window as a free agent having cut links with DRC outfit Daring Club Motema Pembe thanked God for the goal.

“It’s God only no one can stop Him, I thank Him for my first goal in this new home. May His name be glorified in Jesus name I pray,” the former Rayon Sports man posted on Facebook.

Zesco remain top of the table standings on 38 points – two clear of 4th placed Lusaka Dynamos with a game at hand.
