Uganda international Davis Kasirye has joined Zambian giants Zesco United from Daring Club Motema Pembe on a two-year-deal.

His agent Ronny Santos, who has been with him in Ndola, Zambia confirmed the development to Soka25east.com.

“Kasirye can now settle and do what he loves most which is playing football. Zesco is a good club with great facilities, and are currently playing continental football. I believe the exposure with be good for his development,” Ronny said.

Uganda Cranes Coach Milutin “Micho” Ssedojevic revealed his hand in the move.

“I recommended to Zesco Coach Zlatko Krmpotic, a fellow Serbian, Ugandan player Davis Kasirye with trust that he will help resurrect his career,” Micho tweeted.

Kasirye signed for DRC heavyweights Motema Pembe mid last year from Rwandan champions Rayon Sports; however, he only finished a year of his two-year deal with Imana before parting ways mutually.

Rayon’s sojourn was more memorable for the former Police FC and Express FC striker. His 13 goals in the 2015/16 season made him among top scorers in the league.

It was during the same season that he earned maiden national team call ups in two friendlies in preparations for the 2017 AFCON qualifiers.

At Zesco, Kasirye will have to fight for playing time with established names like Kenya’s Jesse Were and Jackson Mwanza.
