Uganda Cranes dependable midfielder Tonny Mawejje has sealed a two-year-deal with Albania’s division two side KF Tirana.

The 26-year-old previously plied his trade with Iceland clubs Valur (on loan from Norwegian outfit Haugesund) and Prottur.

“It’s not about the money but the future of the club looks bright. It’s a big club with a lot of history and has always aimed at better performance in Europe as well,” the former Kampala City man said.

He joins fellow Cranes international Yunus Ssentamu at the club.

Tirana is coached by former Gor Mahia (Kenya) Brazilian international left back Jose Marcelo Ferreira (Ze Maria).

Their attempt to reach the UEFA Europa League this season after bagging Albania Cup were thwarted by Israeli side Maccabi Tel Avuv.
