Ulinzi Stars reached the Gotv 2016 semi-finals after winning a thrilling penalty shootout against Nzoia Sugar in Moi Stadium,Kisumu.

Nzoia Sugar looked on course for victory in normal time against a Premier League side when Lawrence Juma rounded off a slick build-up from a corner to score at the near post in the 30th minute.

Ulinzi did not flinch but were grateful for a moment of millers defensive errors allowing John Makwatta to score minutes later.

Ulinzi missed their third penalty in one shootout with Nzoia Sugar having lost their first making the last soldiers penalty to be the decider.

It was settled when Waweru drove low under Nzoia keeper as Shavanga had hit woodwork in the first penalty kick for sugar millers.

Ulinzi will now play KCB who sent premiership side Western Stima packing in a similar fashion.
