Ulinzi Stars forward Samuel Onyango has joined Kenyan Premier League champions Gor Mahia, Soka25east can confirm.

Samuel becomes the first  signing for coach Dylan Kerr who has vowed to impress in the African Champions League next year.

The former Sony Sugar player joined the soldiers this season after a gentleman’s agreement which saw him recruited as a military officer.

However, grapevine is rife that the he never liked the move as his first choice was to join Gor Mahia and pursue a full time career in football.

Prior to the deal, Gor unsuccessfully negotiated with his parents to rope him in for this season.

At Ulinzi, the Kenyan international has largely been deployed as a winger instead of a striker  a position he is not comfortable with according to those who have followed his career.

A source close to Gor has revealed that the player has offered to resign as soldier to see through his dream of playing for Gor and in Europe.
