Ulinzi Stars winger Kevin Amwayi says their optimistic will repeat the 3-0 performance against Burundi when they face Tanzania on Friday in the ongoing East Africa Military Games in, Kampala, Uganda.
The Kenyan Premier League side struggled in their first match to draw with APR of Rwanda before beating the Burundian side in the second match of the military tournament.
Speaking to the club’s website, Ulinzi utility player said the
defending champions’ opening match result really pushed them.
“Opening games are usually hard and we were a bit discouraged that we could not get a win. Our performance was not the best as well and we had to work extra hard to make amends for that. We played well, attacked and defended as a team and that is where we won the game,” said Amwayi.
“We have to build on from there. Matches are not as easy and as we have seen every team wants to beat Kenya. The win against Burundi has
lifted our morale and we hope to play better moving forward,” he added.
Ulinzi will miss the services of midfielder Churchill Muloma who was sent off against Burundi and he will be hoping James Saruni and Boniface Onyango recover from injury to beef up his side.
