Gabon recovered from a 2-1 loss to host Congo Brazzaville on Wednesday to beat DR Congo by a similar scoreline in their second match of the on going Union of Football Federations of Central Africa (UNIFFAC) U17 tournament on Thursday.

Nzengue Fahd’s brace secured all the three points for the Panthers at stadium Alphonse Massamba Debate.

In other matches on Wednesday, DRC Congo thumped CHAD 7-1 with goals from Ngalina Micah (3′,40′,46′), Kiso Mpia (25′,38′) and Kimuidi Karim (51′,62′). Chad’s consolation was delivered through Adam Abakar penalty in the 76th minute.

Congo was held by Cameron 1-1 on the same day.

DR Congo opened their campaign on Tuesday with a 1-0 win over Mozambique.

The championship that involves eight teams started on Tuesday 26 will run until August 1. The teams will all face each other and the one with most points with lift the trophy donated by CAF President Issa Hayatou.
