“I think I enjoy playing against our town mates, ZESCO United,”……Felix
Forest Rangers has scored 23 goals in the Super League this season and they are almost safe from the relegation fight. On 36 points they are eighth on the log and a couple of wins will confirm that they will still be playing Super League in 2017. But one of the success stories of Forest Rangers without a doubt is one Felix Nyaende who has scored 11 goals for the team and that is about half the total goals for Forest Rangers. He is prolific and he has helped his team manage these points scoring crucial goals that could actually save Forest Rangers from relegation.
Bwezani of Soka25east and Bwezani with Zambian Football took time out to have a face-off with Felix Nyaende and get personal with him on his football career.

BWEZANI WITH ZAMBIAN FOOTBALL: TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF
FELIX NYAENDE: There is nothing much about me, as people may already know, am Felix Nyaende born on the 13th March 1993
BWZF: YOUR FOOTBALL CAREER. WHEN DID YOU START PLAYING FOOTBALL AND HOW MANY CLUBS HAVE YOU PLAYED FOR.
FN: I started playing football at a very tender age and I think I was 9 by then in Mufulira but I think the clubs I can count are four. I have played for Kabwe Warriors, Power Dynamos, Nchanga Rangers and currently with Forest Rangers in Ndola. ‘
BWZF: HOW WOULD DESCRIBE THE 2016 SEASON FOR FOREST RANGERS?
FN: The 2016 season has had its ups and downs and it’s been a very challenging year for us.
BWZF: YOU ARE THE TOP SCORER FOR THE CLUB HAVING SCORED 11 GOALS? HOW DOES THAT FEEL AND ARE EXPECTING MORE GOALS FROM YOU?
FN: Bwezani every player would feel great and that’s exactly how I feel. Feeling Great and humbled but look it’s not my making but it’s the favour of God.
BWZF: YOU HAVE PLAYED UNDER DIFFERENT COACHES THIS SEASON. HOW HAS THAT IMPACTED YOUR PLAY AS A TEAM?
FN: I think that has come with its own advantages and I won’t look at it negatively. Because the truth is every coach has got his on tactics and for the players. It’s to adapt to his tactical plans because they bring different tactics. And I think it has worked for us.
BWZF: ANY DREAM OF BREAKING INTO THE NATIONAL TEAM.
FN: Again I will say that it may be every player’s dream but God’s time is the best. Let me tell you that I have played for all age group teams for the national team so breaking into the national team I know I will surely do. It’s just a matter of time
BWZF: FOREST RANGERS HAS NOT BEEN CONSISTENT THIS SEASON. WINNING GAMES, YOU ARE NOT EXPECTED TO WIN AND LOSING THOSE YOU FEEL YOU WOULD WIN. WHAT’S THE PROBLEM.?
FN: Well I agree with you on that one and I think my thoughts is that we were lacking concentration in most of games that we lost and we seriously could have done better. But looking at the team today, I think I can comfortably say we are back to winning ways.
BWZF: WHICH TEAM DO YOU ENJOY PLAYING AGENTS IN THE SUPER LEAGUE?
FN: I think I enjoy playing against our town mates, ZESCO United, It’s the derby that each team would not want to lose and that intensity is what every player am sure enjoys.
BWZF: WHAT ABOUT THE MOST CHALLENGING?
FN: I think the most challenging is Nkana. The games are always tough and challenging.
BWZF: TELL ME YOUR BEST GAME IN THE SUPER LEAGUE THIS SEASON?
FN: I think without a doubt the best game for me was against ZESCO United. We won that game 1-0 and guess what I was on the score sheet. That was my best and very memorable.
BWZF: AM SORRY I WILL ASK YOU ABOUT YOUR WORST?
FN: I usually don’t want to remember that but the away game at Nkana is the worst for me.
BWZF: WHO IS YOUR BEST FRIEND IN THE FOREST RANGERS TEAM?
FN: Chrispin Mulenga is my good friend, Best actually.
BWZF: WHAT NEXT FOR FELIX AND FOREST RANGERS AFTER THIS SEASON?
FN: I think for Forest Rangers is to make sure the team continues doing very well but for Felix Nyaende is to play professional football next year.
BWZF: WHICH TEAM DO YOU THINK WILL WIN THE 2016 SUPER LEAGUE?
FN: I think ZANACO will win it
BWZF: WHAT ABOUT THE TEAMS TO GET RELEGATED?
FN: Relegation battle ….(pause) mmmmm Am not sure.
BWZF: WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE BWEZANI WITH ZAMBIAN FOOTBALL PROMOTING ZAMBIAN FOOTBALL?
FN: I think you guys are doing great in promoting Zambian football, May God richly bless you
BWZF: YOUR LAST REMARKS.
FN: lastly I will just that when the hand of the lord is upon u this happen and no man can say no
