After a two-week break to accommodate the international calendar, the Azam Uganda Premier League returns this afternoon with three fixtures across the country.
Second placed SC Villa will fancy their chances of closing the seven points gap with table leaders at home to Bright Stars FC while third-placed Vipers SC face Onduparaka FC away this afternoon.
The story at the bottom of the table will witness BUL FC sruggling to lift themselves from the relegation zone when they face Sadolin FC and with callibre of their opponents it will be a tall order indeed.
Onduparaka FC vs Vipers SC (Green Light Stadium,4pm)
Focus will no doubt be at the Green Light Stadium where eighth placed Onduparaka FC host Vipers SC looking for a revenge of 2016 Uganda Cup finals where the Arua based side suffred a 3-1 defeat.Vipers SC have had a good start to the season reminiscent of 2014/2015 when they won the league title.Onduparaka FC on the other hand will be looking to mainting their unbeaten home record at the valley of no return.
Ahead of today match the Onduparaka hopes to pick up from where they left before the international break.Their man of the moment remains Mohammad Shaban.The youngster who has been shortlisted for FUFA player of the year awards has been on top form at the club with six goals to his credit.
Sadolin FC vs BUL FC (Bugembe Stadium-Jinja, 4pm)
BUL FC will look to carry on their surge away from the relegation zone at Bugembe Stadium when they go head to head with Sadolin Paints FC this afternoon.
The vegetable oil makers were in great scoring form hitting three past a hapless JMC Hippos in their last match.
On the other hand, Sadolin Paints will also be looking to maintain their form after 2-1 win over Soana FC and with their leading top scorer Norman Ojik returning to the fore, a win looks likely for the painters.
SC Villa vs Bright Stars FC ( Mandela Stadium, 4pm)
When Bright Stars visit Nambolee this afrernoon they expect ever noisy crowd that is always present to back their home team.SC Villa will be coming to this game a wounded side after suffering a 3-1 loss away to KCCA while Bright Stars on the other side escaped narrowly holding Kirinya Jinja SS 1-1 also at the same venue.
Bright Stars however have registered below par results and have dropped from the top ranks of the league.
SC Villa are second with 21 points while Bright Stars are in sixth positionwith 15 points with Jogoos hoping to close the seven points gap with leaders the Kasasiro boys.
