URA boss Paul Nkata has thrown in the towel following a 7-2 thumping by KCCA in the Ugandan Premier League Tuesday evening.

The taxmen confirmed his resignation in a tweet: “Coach Paul Nkata has resigned with immediate effect as head coach of URA Football Club.”

With four matches to the close of the 2017/18 UPL season, URA are placed eight in the 16-team topflight – 18 points off joint leaders Vipers SC and Villa Jogoo.

The team is now winless in their last three matches.

Nkata rejoined URA from Kenya’s Bandari FC last month. Prior to joining Bandari, he guided Tusker FC to the 2016 Kenyan Premier League title.
