URA FC, this morning started their pre-tournament traninig at Homesdallen ahead of the 2017 Mapinduzi Cup.
The taxmen will be based in Gayaza to prepare for January’s tournament in Zanzibar that is scheduled to start on 2nd January 2017.
URA ‘s contingency of 18 players and 7 officials will be leaving for Zanzibar on December 28th 2016,five days before the start of the tourney.
The Lugazi based side are the 2016 Mapinduzi Cup defending champions.During the past edition they defeated Tanzanian giants Mtibwa FC in the finals.
In an entertaining final that was played on 13th January 2016 they thrashed Mtibwa Sugar 3-1 with Lwasa Peter grabbing a brace as Ntambi Julius netted the other goal.
The Uganda Premier League side is currently in position six with 22 points, ten behind the league leaders KCCA FC.
In the last match they played before the mid-season break they defeated the Kasasiro boys 1-0 at Mehta Stadium in Lugazi with their dependable striker Lwasa Peter scoring in the 86th minute of the match.
