By Steven Kagiri,
Uganda Revenue Authority FC confirmed on Monday that Paul Nkata has been relieved as coach after just eleven months on the job. Former boss Alex Isabirye will be coach, the club announced.
URA F.C Board meeting that sat on Monday 16th June 2014 terminated the services of Head Coach Nkata Paul and long serving Team Doctor Jack Walugembe.
“Nkata signed with the club in April 2013. His performance with the club in Mapendunzi Cup in Zanzibar, CECAFA Club Championship in Sudan and FUFA Super League 2013/14 Season has been under review and this evening, the Board decided to end the relationship with the tactician,’’ reads the statement on the clubs website.
“The Club greatly appreciates the contribution of Coach Nkata to the club for the period he has part of our set up. He will forever be appreciated for delivering us the Uganda Cup success in 2014.
Team Doctor’s contract had ended and the board has opted not to renew it.
Former player and Head Coach Alex Isabirye Musongola has been returned and given a two years performance based contract.
The changes take immediate effect as the restructuring program at the club continues to take shape.
This comes barely days after the club released four of their senior players in the ongoing rebuilding process.
The released players are Owen Kasule, Derrick Walulya, Evans Tugume and custodian Allan Owiny.
