Victor Moses struck twice as Nigeria recorded an impressive 3-1 win over Algeria in their 2018 World Cup qualifier at the Akwa Ibom Stadium in Uyo on Saturday.
In a fantastic encounter Chelsea duo of Victor Moses and John Obi Mikel scored while the Algerian got their solitary goal from Nabil Bentaleb.
It is a match that both sides started on a high note tying to push forward for goals with Super Eagles having their first chance coming from Victor Moses firing wide with Algeria Keeper off his line.
In the 18th minutes it was Victor Moses again and this time he made no mistake giving Nigeria the lead after picking up a pass from John Obi Mikel to apply a wonderful finish driving the ball to the bottom left corner for his first goal of the match.
Algerians had their chance in the 38th minute with Bentaleb well placed with his fantastic effort going centimetres over the post.
Kelechi Iheanacho also had an opportunity almost adding a second goal on 43th minute with a diving header missing the ball with the goalmouth wide open.
Super Eagles extended their lead two minutes to the half time with Obi Mikel who was purely unamarked sloting home a timely second goal after beating an offside trap.
In the second half Algeria looked a different side as they played with more intensity and composure pegging the Nigerians into their own half.
On 67th minute Bentaleb pulled a goal back for Algeria with a stunner.
Algeria nearly levelled the matter in 80th minute when Brahini free-kick deflected just wide coming as one for the best opportunity for the visitors.
Victor Moses scored his second in the last minute of the game to seal the victory for Super Eagles as he smashed home to make it 3-1.
The victory move Nigeria onto six points four more than second Cameroon in top spot who drew 1-1 aganist Zambia.
