Kenyan international and Southampton midfielder Victor Wanyama has come out to issue a heart felt apology to Southampton, the manager and the fans after he was red carded in the 1-0 loss to Norwich City on Saturday afternoon.
A sombre Wanyama took to his instagram page to relay his message just hours after an angry manager Ronald Koeman described the red card as a “stupid”by the no nonsense midfielder.
“I would like to apologise to the manager, fans and everyone at the club for my red card yesterday. It was reckless and irresponsible and i should have used my experience to have not let it happen, especially when i was on a yellow card”
“i now just want to focus on getting back on the pitch and helping my team as much as i can”Wanyama said in his apology.
Meanwhile Wanyama might have hinted at signing another deal at Southampton when he spoke to Soka25east.com who made an inquiry if he was going to leave in the January transfer window
“I have love for Southampton as they gave me a golden chance to play in one of the most prestigious leagues in the the World.Alot has been said about my moving but sometimes i feel i am at the right club and i dont need to be distracted by many sentiments as i am happy and loving my game”he said
