Wanyama motivating inmates at Kamiti Maximum Prison in Nairobi
Kenyan International Victor Wanyama is elated with his scheduled move to Tottenham Hotspur which will be concluded on Monday 20th in London.
The inspirational midfielder has been the subject of transfer rumours but finally Tottenham beat Leicester to get his valued signature after it became apparent Southampton could no longer hold on to him.
Wanyama visited inmates at Kenya’s top maximum security prison Kamiti on Friday where he gave them hope and bought them basic needs.
A visibly elated Wanyama alluded to the fact that as a footballer it’s always a dream to play in the Champions league though he was sad he would be leaving Southampton fans whom he described as awesome.
“It’s always a tough moment leaving a club that you are so much used to their tradition and fans but again it’s always the dream of any footballer to play at the very top level like Champions league ”
“I will definitely miss the awesome Southampton fans who always showed me love and I know they will fully understand my decision “Wanyama told Soka25east.com
Despite Southampton offering Wanyama an improved deal he declined the same instead choosing to reunite with his former manager Mauricio Pochettino who is took the bold step to bring him to England from Celtic where he played.
Wanyama is scheduled to depart Nairobi on Sunday 19th for London to finalise the deal and do medicals on Monday 20th before returning back to Nairobi on Wednesday to continue with his holidays.
