Vipers SC head coach Richard Wasswa says they are keen on getting a win against Volcan Club de Moroni when the two teams clash on Saturday 11th February in a CAF Confederations Cup preliminary round fixture at Nelson Mandela Stadium,Nambolee.
Vipers will be looking to impress after past continential show dissapointments and their coach is hoping for positive results as he believes they are in good shape to trade tackles effectively with the Islanders.
“We are ready for the game. The team has had enough preparation ahead of tomorrow’s game,” he said during a press conference held this morning at Nambolee Board Room.
“Our target is to get a good result in the first leg and have an advantage when we go to Comoros,” Wasswa stated.
“We have to score as many goals as possible here in Kampala to stand a chance of advancing to the next round,” he added.
However, Vipers team doctor Michael Lule has revealed they will miss the services of one of their key players Mike Sserumaga who will be out of action,
“His injury is quite serious and will need a week until he can resume training,” explained Vipers team doctor Michael Lule.
Moses Waiswa or Brian Nkuubi are set to replace Serumaga to partner Deus Bukenya and Keziron Kizito in the heart of midfield.
The aggregate winner between Vipers and Volcan Club will face the winner of another clash between Zimbabwe giants Platinum Star and Mozambique side’ Uniao Desportiva.
