By Austin Oduor Otieno,
The Azam Uganda Premier league ended today as Vipers who had been crowned champions last week finished on a high with a 1-0 thumping of BUL FC.
Farouk Miya who just won the League’s most valuable player scored the all important goal in the 36th minute of the match. The match was played at the Buikwe Stadium.
Vipers SC will now represent Uganda in the CAF Champions league next year. This is their second title.
Apart from winning the title, Vipers head coach Edward Golola was named the best coach. Robert Ssentongo finished the league with 15 goals became the top scorer as Dennis Kamanzi won the Young player award.
Kira Young’s stay at the top depended on results of the last matches played today as three other teams could have gone down. They were however unlucky as they got the ticket to play in the FUFA Big League after losing 2-1 to Simba in the final match.Lweza escaped the drop after beating KCC 1-0 away at Lugogo and by that Kira Young joins already Relegated Rwenshema FC and Entebbe FC.
The Saints, Maroons FC and Jinja Municipal will feature in the 2015/16 Azam Uganda Premier League after they were promoted.
