Vries cut from Namibia’s 23 man squad for Afcon 2019

Brave Warriors coach Ricardo Mannetti has named his final 23 man squad to carry out the assignment at the 2019 African Cup of Nations Finals in Egypt most notably the inclusion of Blackburn Rovers defender Ryan Nyambe.

However, Kaizer Chiefs Goalkeeper Virgil Vries has failed to make the cut while Chris Katjiukua, Teberius Lombard, Benjamen Nenkavu and Wesley Katjiteo are also missing.

The final list was unveiled shortly after Namibia beat Ghana 1-0 in a Pre-Afcon friendly.

The Brave Warriors are in Group D at the 32nd Afcon finals and will play Morocco on June 23 before taking on South Africa on June 28, both at Al Salam Stadium. They will play their final group game against Ivory Coast on 1 July at Cairo International Stadium.
