Niger rallied to edge Burkina Faso 2-1 in a hard fought WAFU Cup match on Sunday at Cape Coast Stadium in Ghana.
A stunning strike from Soumana Aboubakar in the 33rd minute broke the Burkina Faso resistance after the Niger, had threatened to score right from the kick-off.
The youngster , who missed a recent clash aganist Mauritania , combined well upfront with Narcisie and Boni who provided the through pass that resulted in the goal.
It was however the home side which had more ball possession in the first half but they could not translate that to quality scoring chances, and allowed their visitors to quickly adapt to the bumpy conditions of the pitch.
The Burkinabe got an equaliser in the 59th minute when the Stallions skipper Dah Sansan sent home a powerful shot beating Kassaly between Niger goalmounth sending the capacity crowd wild but that excitement was shortlived when Garba Idrissa restored the lead ten minutes later.
