Mali are through to the semi finals of the WAFU women’s tournament after a 3-0 win against Liberia on Friday at the Makeni Stadium.
They top group B on six points, Gambia on second with three.
Senebu Sidibe scored her second goal of the tournament in the 31st minute as Aguissa Diarra netted her fourth in the 78th. Binta Diarra’s 43rd minute goal was sandwiched between the two.
In another group B match, Gambia came from behind to record their first points in a seven goal thriller, as they beat Guinea Bissau 5-2.
Adama Tamba scored four goals whilst Ola Bowaru netted a fifth to cancel out Bissau’s goals from Tchaloda Mané and Veva Te.
The Scorpions are now third in group standings on three points, Guinea Bissau trail with no points and are almost out of the competition unless they surpass Liberia’s and Gambia’s goal difference in the last round of group matches.
