The final round of group matches in the ongoing West Africa Football Union (WAFU) tournament resumed on Sunday as Cape Verde joined Senegal in the semi final after a 3-0 win over Guinea at the Wusum Mini Stadium.
A hat trick by Irlanda Lopez in the 2nd, 72nd and 78th handed Cape Verde their first win to bring the total points tally to four and pip Sierra Leone on three points.
Meanwhile, hosts Sierra Queens dropped out of the tournament after they played to a 1-1 draw with semi finalists Senegal.
Mama Diop’s extra time goal cancelled Rashidatu Kamara’s 61st minute goal for the hosts which would have been enough to take them to the final four.
Guinea Bissau tackle Mali who are already through to the semis as Gambia clash with Liberia. Either sides can still go through.
