Nkana Football Club on Sunday After noon ended Zesco Uniteds dominance over them by beaten the Ndola giants 3-2 at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium. Prior to the Match Nkana had lost 10 times and drawn the other five uin this encounter.
Zesco United started on High piling pressure on the 12 time record Champions and it soon paid off as Idriss Mbombo got on the end of a delicious ball from the left to head home the opener of the encounter in the 17th Minute.
Nkana started gathering momentum but Zesco United was still controlling the game. It was not until the 43rd minute that Nkana’s pressure paid off when Zesco Conceded a penalty and the Topscorer of the League put it past Lameck Nyangu with easy.The first half ended in a draw.
The second half started with Nkana pick up from where they left and soon Celebrations broke out at Levy Mwanawasa by the away fans as Simon Bwalya scored in the 47th minute a beautiful Headed goal to take Nkana into the lead.Zesco was still piling pressure and making Nkana work for the 3 points.
The Turning point came in the 67th Minute when Zesco United’s most prized player and arguably the league’s most creative midfielder Clatus Chota Chama was sent off after two successive Yellow Cards.
Nkana made use of their numerical superiority as they scored their third via their Walter Bwalya who headed home a beautiful engineered Diego Apanene cross in the 87th minute.
Idriss Ilunga Mbombo pulled another one back for Zesco United in the 90th Minute but it was a little bit too late as Nkana run away with all the three points and ending their jinx of never having beaten Zesco United since 2004.
