Harambee Stars head coach Stanley Okumbi will have to do without five key players in the international friendly against Mozambique scheduled for Saturday at the Moi International Sports Center (MISC) Kasarani.

Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has confirmed that Ayub Timbe, Allan Wanga, Musa Mohammed, David Ochieng and Paul Were have all been ruled out of the fixture.

According to the communique from the federation, quoting the head coach, Timbe has been omitted due to injury, while it has received requests from Were and Ochieng’s clubs to allow the two honor club duties.

Meanwhile, the federation further notes, Wanga has requested for omission to attend to personal matters, while Musa has issues with his passport.

“Timbe is injured and is not available for selection on Saturday, while we have allowed Were and Ochieng, to honor upcoming club assignments, on their club’s requests.

“Wanga has not reported to camp but, has since requested that, he sits out the upcoming fixture due to personal engagements, while Musa was released yesterday after it became apparent that his passport would not be ready before Saturday,” said the coach.
