Victor Wanyama’s Sothampton FC broke a world record to enter into Guiness book of World record when previous match record lasting 101 hours was surpassed. This record was broken by a total of 36 players who were taking part in the Testlands Support project at the hallowed turf in St Mary’s.
Testland support project is a charitable organization which helps young people across the city of Southampton.
The match kicked off on Sunday evening at 6; 30pm ended on Friday midnight to break the 102 hours with close to 1500 goals being scored.
Meanwhile, The Southampton’s official portal has reported that Kenyan international Victor Wanyama and his Zambian teammate Emmanuel Mayuka will both be in 2017 Africa Cup of Nations tournament qualifiers to be staged in Gabon.
Mayuka’s Zambia will be in action first on Saturday 13thJune 4pm BST against Guinea Bissau at the Levi Mwanawasa stadium in Ndola while the following day at 3:30pm BST,Wanyama’s Kenya take on Congo in Owando at the Stade Omnis port Marine Ngouabi d’owando.
