Venecious Mapande’ 35th minute penalty cancelled out Siloni Jere’s header as Kabwe Warriors were held to a 1-1 draw by visiting Nakmbala Leopards at Godfrey Chitalu stadium in a FAZ MTN Premier League game played today.
Both teams started on a cautious note but it was the home side who were looking to make inroads early on. Mohammed Fathi rallying his men forward as he welcomed back Marcel Kalonda back into the team.
Meanwhile Nakambala Coach Humphrey was happy to see his boys soak the pressure and hit Warriors on the break.
But it was the home side who took the lead in the 26th minute after a fine cross on the right wing from Mwansa Msofwa found Siloni Jere in the box who headed past Nakambala Leopards keeper Mapulanga.
But moments later Warriors conceded a penalty after Levy Zulu fouled Ignatius Lwipa in the box. Veteran striker Veneciuos Mapande. stepped up and made no mistake in converting the penalty.
The teams went into the break level with the visitors more happy with the score.
The second half saw both coaches make changes with Nakambala bringing on Signs Chibambo and Warriors brought in Paul Simpemba..
None of the players could make an impact on the game, a point share by the two teams.
